Başkent Teachers Workshop: Sharenting!

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan Er organized a seminar on “Sharenting” for Başkent Teacher Training Workshop series on November 25, 2020. Social media platforms that invade our lives and the shares of the photos of children on those platforms are discussed on the basis of children’s rights. Besides, the responsibilities of teachers on awakening the awareness among parents on the issue is argued.

Başkent Teachers Workshop: Procrastination: A Shield against the Our Inner Fears and Possible Ways of the Solution!

 

Res. Ass. Bünyamin Atay organized a seminar on “Procrastination: A Shield against the Our Inner Fears and Possible Ways of the Solution” for Başkent Teacher Training Workshop series on November 30, 2020. In the first section of the seminar, the importance of time, the prevalence of procrastination and the role of procrastination in protecting us from confronting our inner fears had been explored. Then, several concrete steps which have the potential to solve the procrastination had been discussed.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin İrgin’s Article has been Published!

 

One of the faculty members at the department of English Language Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Irgin’s article with Prof. Dr. Ismail Hakki Erten, entitled “Exploring the role of strategy instruction: Young learners’ listening performance and strategy use”, has been published in the latest volume of Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics, an ESCI-indexed journal. Dr. Irgin’s article also meets the criteria for TEDU Academic Publication Awards.

Başkent Teachers Workshop: Effective Teacher Skills!

 

Within the framework of our university's community services, our faculty member Dr. Elif Öztürk’s seminar titled "Effective Teacher Skills" was held with 40 participants consisting of teachers and teacher candidates. In the seminar, the professional and personal skills required to be an effective teacher were discussed and experiences were shared. Thanks to all participants, a productive seminar was held by sharing various suggestions and practices on providing effective online teaching as well.
