IB Experience Sharing in Curriculum in International Contexts Course

As part of the Curriculum in International Contexts course taught by Dr. Gizem Güzeller, lecturer at TED University Faculty of Education, Didem Şahin, an IB Mathematics Teacher at Zurich International School, joined the class as a guest speaker.
Drawing on her international teaching experiences across Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and Switzerland, Didem Şahin shared valuable insights into how the IB philosophy shapes teaching and learning practices.
Throughout the session, she discussed the qualifications required to teach in IB schools, the challenges of teaching abroad, differences between school cultures, assessment approaches, and strategies that foster creativity and visible thinking in students.
Her reflections helped teacher candidates gain a deeper understanding of the IB approach to education and encouraged them to think critically about inquiry-based teaching practices within global learning contexts.
