Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay was invited as a keynote speaker to the international conference titled “The Future of Higher Education: Global Perspectives, Local Impact,” organized by Azerbaijan University in Baku on May 4–5. During the conference, he delivered a presentation entitled “Is Artificial Intelligence the New Savior of Higher Education?” In his presentation, the positive and negative impacts of artificial intelligence on higher education were discussed, and perspectives were shared on how the competencies required for next-generation university faculty members can be developed through the Learning Engineering approach being implemented at TED University. As part of the conference, discussions were also held with academics from various countries, including the United Kingdom, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan, regarding potential academic collaborations in the field of Learning Engineering.
