“University Students and BİLSEM Students Meeting,” organized in collaboration between TED University and Keçiören Science and Art Center (BİLSEM), was held within the scope of the EMT 102 course conducted by Dr. Gizem Güzeller Sarıgöllü.
As part of the event, our teacher candidates visited Keçiören BİLSEM and had the opportunity to learn about the instructional processes, students’ educational experiences, and learning environments at the center. With the contributions of Mathematics Teacher Seda Faydacı and Guidance Counselor Buket Şen Demirel, who work at Keçiören BİLSEM, our teacher candidates gained closer insight into practices related to the education of gifted students.
In the second part of the program, our teacher candidates came together with Keçiören BİLSEM students and shared information about university life, learning opportunities at our faculty, the teacher education process, and the Teacher+ practice carried out at TED University Faculty of Education. BİLSEM students had the opportunity to ask our teacher candidates their questions directly and learn more about university experiences and academic processes.
Enriched with question-and-answer sessions, the event provided a productive and enjoyable sharing environment for both our teacher candidates and BİLSEM students. Conducted within the scope of the EMT 102 course, this meeting contributed to our teacher candidates’ understanding of different institutional cultures, out-of-school learning environments, and practices related to the education of gifted students.
