The invited guest to TRT Türk Rehber Programme, Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer talked about early first and second language literacy development and she emphasized the role of children's storybooks in literacy development processes. The program which has a domestic as well as Europe-based intended audience had in-service language teachers, the parents who raise bilingual and biliterate children, and pre-service English language teachers as its intended viewer profile in target. In this program, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ünal Gezer shared expert opinion and advice on effective early literacy development, developing positive attitude toward books and reading, selecting the right storybook, and interactive book reading with parents and educators. This was an opportunity for Asst. Prof. Dr. Ünal Gezer to share her area of expertise- aligned with her research and publications in early literacy development- with a larger audience.
