Başkent Teachers Workshop: A Webinar on Sound Sense: Phonics Instruction and Phonological Awareness!

Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer, a faculty member of TED University, Faculty of Education, English Language Education Program, held a webinar on Sound Sense: Phonics and Phonological Awareness with a group of in-service English language instructors serving early language learners. A part of Başkent Öğretmen Atölyeleri V series, the webinar aimed at directing English language instructors’ attention to a precursor of early literacy development- phonological awareness and the role of phonics instruction- and presented ways of implementing phonics instruction to tap into phonological and phonemic awareness with young language learners.
