TEDU400 SEMINAR “UNDERSTANDING GİRLS” WAS ORGANIZED!
Within 11th October Girl Child Day, online TEDU400 seminar “Understanding Girls” was organized by TEDU Eduaction Society cooperation with SDSN Student Union on 12th October 2020. UNFPA Coordinator Dr. Gökhan Yıldırımkaya and Social Service Specialist Emrah Kırımsoy made their speeches via Webinar.
While UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) Program Coordinator Dr. Gökhan Yıldırımkaya mentioned about health risks and negative consequences of child and forced marriages, Social Service Specialist Emrah Kırımsoy addressed various psychological and social problems experienced by girls who were married at an early age and couldn’t get the right of education. In their presentations, the speakers emphasized that educators play a major role for preventing child, forced marriages and discriminatory attitudes towards girls. The event, which was widely attended, ended with a question and answer section.
