Dr. Gunel attended the “First African Conference on Research in Chemistry Education (ACRICE-I)” conference held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in between 5th and 7th of December 2013. As an invited speaker Dr. Gunel presented research findings about the relationships between teachers’ pedagogy and students’ critical thinking skills.

European Commission FP 7 Project, Chain Reaction, teacher training program was launched in September 11th 2013. There were 33 physics and biology teachers from 13 high schools across to Ankara participating the first round of the PD program. The training will be completed in 13th of September 2013.

Assistant Professor Aslı Bugay has participated in The Fourth International Conference on Information Integration Theory and Functional Measurement held in Coimbra, Portugal, on June 13-14, 2013 and presented a research paper entitled “Turkish Student’s Views about the Acceptability of Physician-Assisted-End-of-Life”.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Aslı Bugay received Koç University Center for Gender Studies (KOÇ-KAM) Research Award for her project, called “Predictors of Attitudes towards Women”.
KOÇ-KAM is an interdisciplinary research and application center in gender studies. The most important reason of this fund is to promote and to become prevalent of research on gender studies and eventually to increase awareness in gender related issues. The applications were evaluated and selected by an academic jury.
