Juniors majoring at English Language Teaching Program designed and presented phonics- based materials that aim to improve early literacy knowledge and skills development of young language learners.
The book chapter of Primary Education Faculty Member Dr. Berrin Genç Ersoy in the Professional development program book series entitled 'Kapsayıcı Eğitim Bağlamında Türkçenin İkinci Dil Olarak Öğretimi' has been published with the support of UNICEF and Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Teacher Training and Education. As part of "EDUC 201/EDU 102: Instructional Principles and Methods” course offered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sibel Akin, teacher candidates from all departments worked in groups and developed their lesson plans based on student-centered learning/teaching approaches. The teacher candidates also had the opportunity to implement their lesson plans in the class and were encouraged to provide constructive feedback to each other based on their teaching practices, which offers much to their professional development and teaching skills.

The International Student Assessment Program, abbreviated as PISA, was developed in 1997 by the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD). This exam measures the achievement of 15-year-old students in various fields (mathematics literacy, science literacy and reading skills) every three years internationally. The aim of the PISA study is to compare and test the success of school children around the world while increasing standardization and development of educational methods. 2018 PISA published the results on 3 December 2019.
