A comprehensive cooperation protocol has been signed between the Faculty of Education and Maya Educational Institutions, one of Ankara's distinguished educational institutions. The protocol encompasses teacher training practices, internships, joint research projects, mutual seminars, and conferences. We believe that both institutions will mutually strengthen through this collaboration. The protocol was signed by TED University Rector Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu and Maya Educational Institutions Board Chairman Oktay Selçuk.
A workshop was conducted for the strategic planning of our faculty (2023-2027). The workshop was attended by faculty and department managers along with accreditation coordinators. During the meeting, activities related to SWOT analysis, objectives, goals, and actions were carried out. Dr. Assistant Professor Olcay Yılmaz moderated the meeting. The completion of the strategic planning work is scheduled for February.
On December 2, 2023, Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas, the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at TED University, conducted a seminar with the parents of TED Mersin College on the topic of "First Language Acquisition and Foreign Language Teaching."
Our faculty's four programs (Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, English Language Teaching) have completed their first accreditation cycle, and one of them (Mathematics Education) has entered the accreditation process for the first time. The EPDAD evaluation team, led by Prof. Dr. Ayhan YILMAZ, a faculty member of Hacettepe University Faculty of Education, visited Rector Prof. Dr. İhsan SABUNCUOĞLU on November 23-24, 2023, at the beginning of their work.
On November 13, 2023, virtual visits were conducted by the team members of the Teacher Training Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (EPDAD), under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ayhan YILMAZ, for the Preschool Teaching, Classroom Teaching, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, and Elementary Mathematics Teaching programs. During the virtual visits, the team members engaged in various discussions with faculty members, administrators, and stakeholders.
The increasing cultural diversity in our country, as it exists worldwide and is influenced by various reasons, necessitates intercultural communication. Especially in schools and classrooms, the growing cultural diversity is being observed more closely, and there is a need for sustainable peace-supporting educational approaches such as intercultural communication to conduct educational activities inclusively.
Dr. Elif Burhan Horasanlı, and Dr. Deniz Ortaçtepe Hart, who serves at the University of Glasgow, have published their jointly-authored article titled "Neo-nationalism and Turkish Higher Education: A phenomenological case study of a multilingual scholar's identity (re)construction" in the SSCI-indexed journal, Studies in Higher Education.

Elanur Mantar, H. Nur Şimşekoğlu, Ceren Nur Hayran, and Ezgi Zehra Demir, who are 4th-year students in the Faculty of Education, specializing in Preschool Education, and pursuing a minor in Psychological Counseling and Guidance, have prepared a project titled "The Importance of Psychological Counseling and Guidance Services from the Perspective of Preschool Teachers." This project, under the academic supervision of S. Burcu Özgülük Üçok, has been awarded support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Student Research Projects.
Institutional administrators were presented with Thank You Certificates.


We had our Academic Council meeting for the 2023-2024 academic year. During the meeting, progress within our Faculty and the topics on the agenda were discussed.
Dean Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kavak bid farewell to the Faculty due to the expiration of his term in December 2023.
