Our faculty member from the Department of Primary Education, Lecturer Dr. Esra Özcan, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülin Haşlaman and Professor Gökçe Nur Yılmaz have co-authored an article titled “Using virtual reality to teach climate change in social studies: a case study in teacher education,” which has been published in the SSCI Q1 journal Humanities and Social Sciences Communications.

The study explores how pre-service teachers integrate virtual reality technologies into social studies education to teach climate change. It highlights the potential of immersive VR to support experiential learning, civic and ethical pedagogical reasoning, and professional development in teacher education.
