Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay, conducted a series of academic meetings and presentations at Arizona State University and Indiana University in the United States between February 3–6. These visits marked a significant step toward sharing the Faculty’s Teacher+ / Learning Engineering transformation vision at the international level and fostering strategic collaborations.

At the Learning Engineering Research Network (LERN 2026) Conference, hosted by Arizona State University on February 3–4, 2026, the Teacher+ / Learning Engineering transformation model implemented within our Faculty was presented comprehensively. Centered on a data-informed, design-oriented, and interdisciplinary approach to teacher education, the model attracted considerable interest from participants.

As part of the conference program, potential collaborations between the two institutions were discussed with Prof. Dr. Daniella McNamara, Director of the Learning Engineering Institute at Arizona State University, focusing on research initiatives in Learning Engineering, faculty exchange, and joint program development. In addition, meetings were held with leading scholars in the field, including Chris Dede from Harvard University, Punya Mishra from Arizona State University, and Jim Goodell from IEEE, during which the integration of TED University Faculty of Education’s transformation efforts into international networks was explored.

On February 5, During the meeting with Robert Berry, Dean of the School of Education at Indiana University, opportunities for collaboration between the two faculties were discussed, including faculty exchange, joint research projects, and the redesign of teacher education programs. Furthermore, program structures were examined to enable students in Indiana University’s teacher education programs to participate in school practicum experiences at TED Schools.

On February 6, Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay delivered a seminar on Learning Engineering at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University. In the seminar, he addressed the intersection of Learning Engineering with artificial intelligence, learning analytics, and human–computer interaction, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based and technology-enhanced transformation in teacher education.

These visits have strengthened the international visibility of the Learning Engineering–based transformation carried out under the Teacher+ vision at TED University’s Faculty of Education and have reinforced its strategic partnerships. The Faculty is advancing with the goal of becoming one of the first institutions worldwide to holistically redesign teacher education through data-informed design, learning analytics, artificial intelligence, and an interdisciplinary engineering approach, aiming to position this innovative model—originating in Türkiye—as a globally recognized reference framework for transformation in teacher education.
