The project, aimed at establishing an original model for the professional development of young mathematics teachers, is coming to life with TÜBİTAK's support!

The project, in which Prof. Dr. Erdinç Çakıroğlu and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zerrin Toker from our Faculty of Education are involved as researchers and will be conducted by researchers from 5 different universities under the coordination of Middle East Technical University, has been deemed worthy of funding within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1001 - Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program, Turkey's mainstream research program.

At the core of the project is an original model aimed at providing comprehensive support to mathematics teachers in designing, implementing, and evaluating advanced mathematical tasks during the first 5 years of their profession. Prominent aspects of the project include individual, school-based, classroom-integrated, continuous, and needs-based support provided by experienced educators. One of the significant stages of the project is defined as the creation of a digital platform supporting teachers in proactively and continuously enhancing their competencies.

This project, supported by the TÜBİTAK 1001 fund, which is an important step supporting innovative approaches to the professional development of mathematics teachers and shaping future research outcomes, aims to make a significant contribution to enhancing the capacities of young teachers.
