TED Human Resources Management Met With Our Students

Head of Mathematics and Science Education Department Dr. Zerrin Toker gave a seminar on “Enriching Learning Environments” for Tek Primary School Teachers on November 6, 2019 within the scope of Başkent Teacher Workshops event. The second part of the study, which is planned to be application weighted, will take place on 27 November 2019.

As the faculty of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, we designed our masks by saying "I Wear My Mask, I Create Awareness" in the LÖSEV tent in our campus within the scope of 2-8 November Children with Leukemia Week.

The book chapter of Dr. Onur Özmen has been published!
Dr. Özmen's book chapter has been published in the book entitled Siber Zorbalık: Araştırmaya, Önlemeye ve Müdahale Etmeye Yönelik En Güncel Bilgiler. His chapter, named "Siber Zorbalığı Ölçmek İçin Kullanılan Testler", consisted of not only contemporary, national, international measurement tools but also illuminates cultural factors regarding cyber-bullying. 

Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Voltan Acar had been in TED Konya College!

Chair of Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department  Prof. Nilüfer Voltan-Acar conducted a seminar on Gestalt Therapy at TED Konya College. Illumination of basic concepts of Gestalt Therapy followed by practice, question and answer sections. In the end, founder of TED Konya College, Gülören Kale, gave Prof. Voltan-Acar a plaque for her contributions.

Within the scope of MATE 101 Fundamentals of Mathematics I course, first-year students of our department, made a field trip to TALES Campus Math Museum with the responsible faculty member Dr. Çiğdem ALKAŞ ULUSOY. During the field trip, the students received information from the museum guide on concrete materials related to basic mathematical concepts. Then the students examined the materials in the museum and played logic-math games during free time.

9th, 10th and 11th grade high school students who study in various schools in Ankara and benefit from the Full Support Scholarship given by the Turkish Education Association, continue to learn English on subjects that aim to raise social awareness. They organized an event to raise awareness about Children’s Leukemia Week, 2nd – 8th of November, and they wrote a message on the masks with various pictures and their names. The students, who gave the message of an inclusive society for all with their masks, wanted to share their support with children with Leukemia.

Dr. Pelin Irgin participated to TUBITAK 2223-D project titled as “Workshop on the 21st Century Learner Profile in English Language Teaching”(WoLeP in ELT) organized by Bartin University, University of Nottingham and Aston University in 18th and 19th of October, 2019 in Amasra, Bartin,Turkey.

 The key topics covered in the workshop were:

- Building a knowledge base for teaching 21st century skills in EFL settings: Self-Assessment,

- Understanding Contemporary Adolescents from Developmental Perspective,

Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Voltan Acar conducted a workshop on VAM Model regarding 100. Year Education Symposium at 19 Mayıs University on  30.10.2019.
