Our faculty members have organized seminars for the psychological counselors working at the Ministry of National Defense and Turkish Armed Forces. In these seminars, topics such as family counseling, basic counseling skills, intake within the psychological assessment process and short term counseling, psychological trauma and intervention were discussed.

5th Evaluator Training Workshop was held on 21-22 September 2019 in Ankara by EPDAD (Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Training Programs). Our faculty members; Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kavak, Prof. Dr. Belgin Aydin, Dr. Zerrin Toker, Dr. Pelin İrgin, Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer, Dr. Sinem Sonsaat Hegelheimer and our 2nd year Mathematics Education student Fatma Nur Gürbüz participated in this workshop. 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer, a faculty member of TED University’s Faculty of Education, Department of English Language Education, signed the Advisor Academician Protocol with Mohaç Primary School located in Çankaya district. 

Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department Research Assistant Nergis Hazal Yılmaztürk presented her study entitled “The Relationship Between Perceived Stress and Emotional Eating: The Mediating Role of Emotion-Focused Coping” in the 33rd European Health Psychology Society Congress, in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on 3-7 September. She also attended a workshop titled “Applying mindfulness techniques to enhance health and well-being”.

GPC Students Gizem Gökçe Coşkun, Nehir Kılıç and Sena Demirel attended 16. National GPC Students Congress and presented their scale entitled Perception of Psychological Counselor Candidates on working with Sexual Abusers (CISTO). We congratulate them and wish them to have successful lives!

The ideas from ELT Departments Meeting with 40 prospective teachers from 13 universities on June 21, and with 56 academicians from 25 universities on 28 June were reported. You can find the report here.

Dr. Pelin Irgin visited Faruk Nafiz Camlibel Anatolian High School on 4th of September and Hasan-Sükran Saruhan Secondary School on 6th of September, and presented her seminar titled as “Teachers’ stated belief about listening in a foreign language”. Then, Dr. Irgin applied a questionnaire and a 5-likert type scale on teachers’ belief about listening to the English teachers. The results of the data analysis will be shared with the teachers in the next meeting. 

Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kavak's, Dean of the Faculty of Education, an article titled "A Study on Teachers' Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Student Achievements" was published in Hacettepe University Journal of Education. The full text of the article can be found here.

Dr. Erdem Aksoy presented the paper titled '"An Analysis of compulsory secondary school English language teaching books by values and cultural concepts" at 2nd International Learning, Teaching, and Educational Research Congress 2019 (ILTER 2019) held in Amasya on 5-7 September 2019.
