Dr. Elif Burhan Horasanlı, Assistant Professor in the English Language Education Program, has published her article titled “Laughing into Academia: The Role of Humor in Academic Socialization” in Language and Education, a journal indexed in the SSCI–Q1 category.
A recent teacher education research project funded within the BAGEP2025 award scheme has been completed in the faculty. The project focused on telepresence robot-mediated micro co-teaching between the English Language Education programmes at TED University and Turku University, Finland. Pre-service teachers in both institutions collaborated to design lesson plans and co-teach these plans with the remote control of the robot by TED University students and physical participation of Turku University students.
A full-day program review workshop was held on 26 January 2026 with the participation of faculty members from the Faculty of Education. During the workshop, all faculty programs and courses were reviewed through a learning engineering perspective, with a focus on the development of new courses and updated content.

Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay, Dean of the Faculty of Education at TED University, held a series of meetings with universities in Azerbaijan and delivered conference presentations during December.
Within the Faculty of Education at TED University, our Teacher+ / Learning Engineering transformation initiatives include ongoing in-house professional development activities for our academic staff.
On December 25, a training session titled “Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Applications in Education” was conducted. Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that the use of innovative technologies in teaching leads to effective, efficient, and satisfying learning experiences.

In the ED 201 Instructional Technologies course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülin Haslaman, studies are being carried out on the integration of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications into the teaching process. Within the scope of the Teacher+ initiative, pre-service teachers are experiencing the use of VR/AR technologies, designing interactive environments to enrich lesson content, and developing essential pedagogical and technological skills to use these tools effectively in instructional settings.
During the technology week of our ELT 203 Teaching Reading Skills course, Research Assistant Sevim Berhiv Acay joined us as a guest speaker. As part of the session, we held a workshop on how eye-tracking and virtual reality (VR) technologies can be used in teaching reading. Our students had the opportunity to experience both the eye-tracker and VR headsets, and we discussed how these tools can be integrated into language teaching.
Within the scope of the Teacher+ program carried out by the TEDU Faculty of Education, English language teacher candidates enrolled in the ELT 303 Teaching Speaking Skills course -identified as one of the pilot courses and delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Arzu Kanat-Mutluoğlu and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sak from the Department of English Language Education- had the opportunity to gain pedagogical and technological experience in integrating tools such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality into their teaching processes.
