The Faculty of Education at TED University successfully hosted the seminar titled “The Nature of Engineering and the Role of Engineering in STEAM Education” on April 17, 2025.

In this inspiring session, Prof. Dr. Faik Özgür Karataş – Chair of the Department of STEAM Education at Trabzon University – shared his multifaceted insights into the nature of engineering and its crucial place in STEAM education.

Lecturer Mehmet Sak's Article Has Been Published...

Our faculty member from the Department of English Language Education, Mehmet Sak, has published his article titled "Language teacher educator wellbeing in online classes: An analytic autoethnography" in the European Journal of Education, which is indexed in the SSCI-Q1 category. In response to calls for systematic exploration of language teacher educators' professional lives, the article uses analytic autoethnography as a lens to shed light on early-career language teacher educators' wellbeing experiences.

The research titled “Shaping Future Educators: The Role of Critical Intercultural Communication in Teacher Education Programs” by Res. Asst. Aybüke Durmuş and Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Özlem Erden-Başaran from the Department of Educational Sciences has been accepted for presentation at ECER 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia!
The study explores the perceptions of pre-service teachers and teacher educators regarding critical intercultural communication, and identifies strategies for effectively integrating this approach into teacher education programs.

The study titled “Enhancing Teaching and Learning: A Mixed Methods Study on 21st Century Skills” by Dr. Merve Şahin Kürşad, Res.Asst. Aybüke Durmuş, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Münevver İlgün Dibek from TED University’s Department of Educational Sciences has been accepted for presentation at the NCME 2025 conference, to be held in Denver, Colorado, USA. This research employs a mixed methods design to evaluate 21st-century skills training for pre-service teachers, revealing significant improvements in teaching practices and learning skills.

Workshop on the Use of Eye-Tracking Technology in Education Successfully Held

The workshop on "The Use of Eye-Tracking Technology in Education," organized by TED University Faculty of Education, took place on March 20, 2025, in Ahmet Ersan Conference Hall as part of ongoing digital transformation efforts. Speakers Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay and Dr. Yeliz Tunga delivered in-depth presentations on the fundamental principles of eye-tracking technology, its applications in education, and data analysis techniques.
