The Faculty of Education at TED University successfully hosted the seminar titled “The Nature of Engineering and the Role of Engineering in STEAM Education” on April 17, 2025.

In this inspiring session, Prof. Dr. Faik Özgür Karataş – Chair of the Department of STEAM Education at Trabzon University – shared his multifaceted insights into the nature of engineering and its crucial place in STEAM education.

Our faculty member from the Department of English Language Education, Mehmet Sak, has published his article titled "Language teacher educator wellbeing in online classes: An analytic autoethnography" in the European Journal of Education, which is indexed in the SSCI-Q1 category. In response to calls for systematic exploration of language teacher educators' professional lives, the article uses analytic autoethnography as a lens to shed light on early-career language teacher educators' wellbeing experiences.

The research titled “Shaping Future Educators: The Role of Critical Intercultural Communication in Teacher Education Programs” by Res. Asst. Aybüke Durmuş and Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Özlem Erden-Başaran from the Department of Educational Sciences has been accepted for presentation at ECER 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia!
The study explores the perceptions of pre-service teachers and teacher educators regarding critical intercultural communication, and identifies strategies for effectively integrating this approach into teacher education programs.

Our graduate student in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and concurrently our research assistant with a working scholarship, Ceren Deniz Coşkun’s study titled “Culturally Responsive Classroom Management: A Systematic Analysis” has been accepted for presentation at the 99th European Conference on Educational Research (Emerging Researcher), which will be held in Belgrade.

At TED University’s WANTED Career Days, which bring together students who are about to step into professional life with professionals from Turkey’s leading companies and institutions, we were together with our graduates from the Faculty of Education and students who are doing internships in various companies and schools.

As TED University’s Faculty of Education, we successfully hosted the “Training the Learning Leaders of the Future: Corporate Academy Mastery” seminar on March 27, 2025 with great interest!

Our distinguished speaker, Arzu Hancı Karademirci, LÖSEV Training and Academy Coordinator and Former Director of TCMB Central Academy, shared valuable insights on the emergence of corporate academies, the opportunities they offer for universities, and the integration of academic knowledge into the business world.

The study titled “Enhancing Teaching and Learning: A Mixed Methods Study on 21st Century Skills” by Dr. Merve Şahin Kürşad, Res.Asst. Aybüke Durmuş, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Münevver İlgün Dibek from TED University’s Department of Educational Sciences has been accepted for presentation at the NCME 2025 conference, to be held in Denver, Colorado, USA. This research employs a mixed methods design to evaluate 21st-century skills training for pre-service teachers, revealing significant improvements in teaching practices and learning skills.

The workshop on "The Use of Eye-Tracking Technology in Education," organized by TED University Faculty of Education, took place on March 20, 2025, in Ahmet Ersan Conference Hall as part of ongoing digital transformation efforts. Speakers Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay and Dr. Yeliz Tunga delivered in-depth presentations on the fundamental principles of eye-tracking technology, its applications in education, and data analysis techniques.
