The increasing cultural diversity in our country, as it exists worldwide and is influenced by various reasons, necessitates intercultural communication. Especially in schools and classrooms, the growing cultural diversity is being observed more closely, and there is a need for sustainable peace-supporting educational approaches such as intercultural communication to conduct educational activities inclusively.
Dr. Elif Burhan Horasanlı, and Dr. Deniz Ortaçtepe Hart, who serves at the University of Glasgow, have published their jointly-authored article titled "Neo-nationalism and Turkish Higher Education: A phenomenological case study of a multilingual scholar's identity (re)construction" in the SSCI-indexed journal, Studies in Higher Education.

Elanur Mantar, H. Nur Şimşekoğlu, Ceren Nur Hayran, and Ezgi Zehra Demir, who are 4th-year students in the Faculty of Education, specializing in Preschool Education, and pursuing a minor in Psychological Counseling and Guidance, have prepared a project titled "The Importance of Psychological Counseling and Guidance Services from the Perspective of Preschool Teachers." This project, under the academic supervision of S. Burcu Özgülük Üçok, has been awarded support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Student Research Projects.

On September 7-8, 2023, the second SCOFOLA'23 conference on "Challenges and Innovative Solutions in Foreign Language Teaching" was organized by the Foreign Languages School of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEÜ). The opening speech of the conference, titled "Emotionally Agile Teachers, Emotionally Agile Generations," was delivered by our Head of the English Language Teaching Department at TED University, Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas. Among the invited speakers at the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. İpek Kuru Gönen from Anadolu University, Steve O'Farrell, and Prof. Dr.
English Language Teaching Department senior students Dilara İşyar, Elif Nur Uran, Neriman Dilay Koca and Zehra Betül Kalkan will present the LAD project on which they are working on Sustainable Development Goals in the 7th grade English lesson curriculum with digital storytelling. The presentation will be via Zoom on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 16.00

Lecturer Mehmet Sak and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurdan Özbek Gürbüz’s (METU) co-authored article titled “Dynamic changes in pre-service language teacher well-being in the classroom ecology: A micro approach” has been published in “TESOL Quarterly” (SSCI; Q1), one of the respected journals on language learning/teaching.
