On September 7-8, 2023, the second SCOFOLA'23 conference on "Challenges and Innovative Solutions in Foreign Language Teaching" was organized by the Foreign Languages School of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEÜ). The opening speech of the conference, titled "Emotionally Agile Teachers, Emotionally Agile Generations," was delivered by our Head of the English Language Teaching Department at TED University, Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas. Among the invited speakers at the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. İpek Kuru Gönen from Anadolu University, Steve O'Farrell, and Prof. Dr.

English Language Teaching Department senior students Dilara İşyar, Elif Nur Uran, Neriman Dilay Koca and Zehra Betül Kalkan will present the LAD project on which they are working on Sustainable Development Goals in the 7th grade English lesson curriculum with digital storytelling. The presentation will be via Zoom on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 16.00

Lecturer Mehmet Sak and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurdan Özbek Gürbüz’s (METU) co-authored article titled “Dynamic changes in pre-service language teacher well-being in the classroom ecology: A micro approach” has been published in “TESOL Quarterly” (SSCI; Q1), one of the respected journals on language learning/teaching.

TED University English Language Teaching fourth grade students visited TED Colleges in different cities of Turkey within the scope of the TED Ambassadors project carried out jointly by the Turkish Education Association and TED University. Our students Selen Ertunç visited TED Adana College, Ayşe Özkan TED Mersin College, Ezgi Arslan TED Eskişehir College, Ecem Gökçen Tunçer TED Samsun College and Fatma Betül Akmaz TED Karadeniz Ereğli College.

You are invited to our panel titled "Early Age Language Teaching Panel in Turkey", which will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, organized by the Department of English Language Education, where our distinguished participants will speak.

The event will take place via Zoom and the event language will be English.

Prof. Dr. Gülsev Pakkan, one of the faculty members of the Department of English Language Education, Department of Foreign Language Education of our faculty, gave a presentation in the 'Reflective Learning Adventures: Is It Too Hard to Learn English?' event held on December 2, 2022, hosted by Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.

Our department head Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas was the guest of Cumhuriyet Newspaper Educator columnist Şahin Aybek. The duo talked about the problems of English education in Turkey and their solutions.
